Searching the Weld County Court Docket
Know which court holds the file before you search. Felonies and major civil cases sit in the Colorado 19th Judicial District. Weld County Court takes misdemeanors, traffic matters, evictions, smaller civil claims, and small claims. Both state levels run through the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search. The Combined Courts clerk serves the same levels. A ticket from Greeley, Windsor, Erie, Evans, or Firestone might stay elsewhere. It could remain in that municipal court instead. So check the court name and address printed on the citation first.
The live Weld County state docket works best when a hearing is known or likely. You must pick a date range plus one more filter. A Weld County case number gives the cleanest result. A party, business, attorney, court type, or division also narrows things down. Follow this sequence:
- Identify whether the filing is state, municipal, or federal from the latest notice.
- Open the official docket and keep Weld selected as the county.
- Add court type, case-number segments, party, attorney, or division with the date range.
- Match the date, time, hearing type, appearance type, courtroom, and case number.
- Call the correct clerk if a setting is missing or conflicts with a newer order.
- Request the ROA or named document when the calendar card is not enough.
The official Weld docket source shows the live filter page used for this process.
That same limit matters most of all. The state tool is a hearing calendar, not a free archive of every filing.
Weld County Docket Filter Set
A Weld County docket search offers more paths than a simple name box. Weld is county code 62 in the prefiltered URL. You can also choose the 19th Judicial District, District or County Court, a courthouse, a division, or one date. Case numbers split into year, class, and sequence fields. Party searches separate individuals from businesses. Attorney searches take a name or bar number. Date alone never works, which is why a broad first try often returns nothing usable.
| Filter | Use | Weld detail |
|---|---|---|
| Court | District or County | Choose the level named on the notice |
| Case number | Year, class, sequence | Examples include CR, CV, DR, JV, C, S, T, and M |
| Party | Individual or business | Add exact spelling and another useful filter |
| Attorney | Name or bar number | Useful when the case party is not known |
| Date and division | Calendar scope | Date plus another filter is required |
Results come in pages of twenty, and you can export them or open a printable view. A repeated card may simply be another party on the same hearing. Count unique case numbers and times before concluding anything.
Inside a Weld County Court Docket
A Weld County court docket card marks a scheduled event, nothing more. Expect the date, time, and estimated length. The card also carries the party label, case number, hearing type, location, appearance type, and courtroom. Common hearing labels include Status Conference, Jury Trial, and Initial Conference Appearance. You may also see Hearing, Sentencing Hearing, and Temporary Custody Hearing. A card marked VIRTUAL or TELEPHONE only describes how the setting is assigned. It creates no general right to join without the division's instructions.
Most of the official case file is missing from the card. Pleadings, a full charge block, and attorneys stay off it. A financial ledger, the final disposition, and the complete event history do too. When chronology matters, ask the clerk for a Register of Action. When a document's contents matter, request it by name: a complaint, order, judgment, ticket, or sentence.
| Case number | Filing year, case-class letters, and sequence, such as 2026CR#### |
|---|---|
| Setting | Date, time, duration, hearing type, appearance type, and courtroom |
| Party card | A displayed name, which may not be the complete caption |
| ROA | The clerk's brief chronological summary of charges, sentences, minute orders, and events |
| Filed document | The actual pleading, order, judgment, petition, will, protection order, or ticket |
| Certified copy | A clerk-authenticated document for an official purpose |
The Judicial Branch record request form makes these product choices explicit.
With that form, a calendar lead becomes a request for the exact Weld County docket record you need. Ask for the right paper, not just the listing.
Weld County Docket Versus ROA
A Weld County calendar and an ROA answer different questions. The calendar says when and where a case is set. The ROA says which Weld County case events were recorded over time. A hearing may drop off the current calendar. It may have been reset, vacated, or completed; disappearance alone never proves dismissal. The newest order and the clerk's record control. An ROA also skips some filed images. Named pleadings and orders need a separate request.
- Docket
- Colorado's public list of scheduled court matters.
- Register of Action
- A brief chronological case history kept by the clerk.
- Continuance
- A move from one setting to a later setting.
- Disposition
- The recorded way a charge or case ended.
- Minute order
- A concise record of a ruling or court event.
The Weld record routing page leads requesters to the form and the local records email. Use it to route a record request.
This distinction guards against a common mistake. A real-time hearing card is not the complete official case record.
Courts That Keep Dockets in Weld County
Weld County uses one Colorado Judicial Branch clerk for state trial cases. The case layers still stay distinct. District Court handles felonies, major civil cases, domestic relations, juvenile, probate, water, and other district work. County Court handles misdemeanors, state traffic, statutory civil claims, evictions, and small claims. Municipal courts keep their own records. Those cover ordinance, parking, and municipal traffic cases. Appeals are different. They build a separate appellate record with the Colorado Court of Appeals or Colorado Supreme Court as authorized.
| Court | Docket covers | Search or request |
|---|---|---|
| 19th Judicial District Court | Felony, major civil, domestic, juvenile, probate, water | State docket and Combined Courts clerk |
| Weld County Court | Misdemeanor, state traffic, eviction, small claims, limited civil | State docket and Combined Courts clerk |
| Municipal courts | City code, parking, and local traffic | Each city clerk and local calendar |
| Federal courts | District of Colorado and bankruptcy matters | PACER and the federal clerk |
The official Weld Combined Courts page lists the state court units and their three buildings. Check it before you travel.

Weld County Docket Records at Centennial
Routine state court business happens at Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80631. Mail records requests to P.O. Box 2038, Greeley, Colorado 80632. The clerk counter runs 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays except holidays, opening at 8:00 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday. Records questions can go to 970-475-2400 or 19JDRecords@judicial.state.co.us. Note that the court accepts no pleadings by email or fax.
The historic Weld County Courthouse at 901 9th Avenue still stands as a court building. Its official notice says all court business is handled at Centennial Center, though Probate and Water Court keep direct lines at the historic site. Plaza West at 910 10th Avenue is the transcript route. A transcript records what was said; it is neither the docket nor a filed image.
The Judicial Branch access guide draws the line between case records and administrative records. That split shapes where each request goes.
Case files therefore belong with the Weld court, not the county's general CORA portal. Route your request accordingly.
How to Find Court Dates and Settings
Start with the newest paperwork. A summons, notice, or order carries the latest setting. Check that against the current Weld County court docket next. A name match alone is not enough. Verify the Weld County case number, date, time, duration, hearing type, appearance type, and courtroom before you rely on anything. If the Weld County record lists the hearing as virtual, follow the division-specific Webex instructions. Colorado also offers a public livestream. That stream is for observation only. Unauthorized recording or screenshots are prohibited by Colorado rules.
Weld civil scheduling has some local habits. County Court eviction returns are set on weekdays at 8:00 a.m. That applies when the court is open. Money-case summons returns occur on Fridays. They are split between morning and afternoon by the plaintiff attorney's surname. The court labels that return a non-appearance event. Small-claims returns generally land on Tuesday or Thursday at 1:15 p.m. in Division C. A case-specific order still controls each matter.
When a saved screen and a new notice disagree, call 970-475-2400 or the municipal clerk. The full Weld County court dates process covers resets, missed settings, and appearance fields.
Weld County Treatment Court Dockets
Weld Probation runs two specialty dockets for eligible participants. One path is an Adult Treatment Court, which is also called Drug Court. The other is a DUI Court. A team handles each case. The judge, probation staff, and treatment providers may all take part. Even so, the programs add no separate public person-search database. The underlying criminal case number remains the key to the court docket. Treatment reports may stay restricted. That applies even when an ordinary hearing is visible.
A 2024 chief-judge order created a district Drug Offender Treatment Board. Be careful with older evaluation figures. Label them by their original study year, not as current enrollment. Weld County lists no Veterans Treatment Court. Its docket should not be described that way. Current eligibility and calendar questions belong with probation or the Combined Courts clerk.
Weld County Docket Filing Scale
Weld County covers roughly 4,000 square miles of northern plains and Front Range growth. It has grown fast. The headcount keeps climbing. Census QuickFacts put the county at 328,981 residents in 2020. A 2024 estimate puts it at 369,745. A 2025 estimate puts it at 378,426. That growth explains why the court system spreads its work around. The state court system uses multiple Greeley buildings. Each city keeps its own municipal docket.
An official 19th Judicial District snapshot reports 22,734 County Court filings. It adds 11,784 District Court filings for the same stated reporting period. Together that is 34,518 state trial filings, before municipal cases add their own layer. Treat the figure as context. It does not measure current active cases or wait time.
The Judicial Branch data and reports portal publishes the current statistical reports for the state's courts. Match report years before comparing figures.
Public Access to Court Dockets
Colorado classifies indexes, calendars, dockets, ROAs, orders, and judgments as court records. Access is another matter. It depends on the record's security level and the governing rule. Remote access is not counter access. A public calendar may expose a hearing. A protected filed document may still require redaction or a clerk request. Restricted, suppressed, sealed, juvenile, and selected probate material can be limited or absent.
Key Colorado access rules:
CJD 05-01 sets the court-record access framework, including dockets, ROAs, orders, and judgments.
CJD 06-01 governs court fees reflected in clerk search, copy, and research charges.
C.R.S. sections 24-72-301 through 309 govern Colorado criminal justice records and custodian decisions.
Colorado sealing law explains why some qualifying criminal records leave public view.
For the governing policy, rely on the current directive landing page rather than an older saved policy PDF.
The current directive controls disclosure. It tells the Weld County clerk what may be released and what proof of entitlement a requester may have to show.
Weld County Docket Security Levels
Colorado Courts E-Filing defines five security levels. Public material is open to the court, the parties, and the public. Protected material can reach public view after redaction. Restricted material goes only to the court, parties or counsel, and authorized criminal justice agencies. Suppressed material generally stays with the court and the parties or counsel. Sealed material is limited to judges and Judicial Department staff under the applicable order.
Blank results happen for many reasons. The date or court could be wrong. A name may be entered differently. There may be no current hearing, or the case could be municipal, archived, protected, or sealed. Check the filing court, vary the verified filters, and ask the clerk what can be disclosed. Absence is not proof that no case exists.
The Colorado Courts E-Filing security FAQ explains how the access categories apply to documents.
The e-filing workspace takes filings. It is not the public's full Weld County case-history reader.
Docket Records at the Clerk's Office
State court files in Weld County sit with one office. That is the Clerk of Court for the Weld County Combined Courts. Don't confuse that office with the elected Weld County Clerk and Recorder. That office handles land records, elections, and motor vehicles. Send a judicial ROA request to the Clerk and Recorder instead. It will probably get misrouted. Municipal court clerks keep their own city dockets entirely separate.
You can reach the state clerk several ways. Options include the online form, email, phone, the Centennial Center counter, or mail. The form promises a response within three business days unless circumstances require more time. Copies run $0.25 per page. The $15 cap applies to parties and their attorneys, but nonparties face no cap. A name search costs $5, and certified or exemplified documents cost $20 each. Off-site retrieval is billed at actual cost. Research or redaction beyond the first hour runs $30 per hour in fifteen-minute steps. Confirm the amount and payment method with the clerk before you pay.

Older Weld County Docket Files
Not every Weld County court record lives in the electronic calendar. Older paper files, bound volumes, microfilm, and off-site holdings may simply be absent from it. Ask the Weld clerk where a file is held before you contact any archive. The statewide request form permits an actual-cost retrieval charge. Some transferred court series now rest with the Colorado State Archives. Dates and coverage vary. A clerk referral can save you from ordering the wrong collection.
Record routes in Weld County have shifted over time. The county dates to 1861. The historic courthouse still hosts proceedings. Most routine clerk work now happens at Centennial Center instead. Modern e-filing feeds the case-management system, and the public docket carries live hearing data. Neither change erases the need for a direct records request. Use it when you need a full ROA or a filed image.
Weld County Court Dockets by City
The five city pages follow the 2020 Census whole-place ranking. Greeley, Windsor, Erie, Evans, and Firestone each run their own municipal court path. Population figures don't settle jurisdiction. Windsor, Erie, and Firestone all cross county lines. For a state filing, read the county and courthouse printed on the summons. For a municipal citation, take it to the named city's clerk and calendar.
Greeley Docket Search
108,795 in the 2020 Census. Greeley offers a last-name and birth-date municipal calendar search.
Windsor Docket Search
32,716 in the 2020 Census. Windsor publishes municipal session dates and several payment channels.
Erie Docket Search
30,038 in the 2020 Census. Erie's gateway separates schedule, payment, and record-request links.
Evans Docket Search
22,165 in the 2020 Census. Evans publishes a calendar and detailed reset and records rules.
Firestone Docket Search
16,381 in the 2020 Census. Firestone uses ticket correspondence, a town calendar, and clerk contact.
