Run Weld County Civil Docket Search

Start a Weld County civil docket search with the right court, because the case you need sits in only one of them. Weld District Court handles the big civil and domestic cases, while Weld County Court takes smaller money claims, evictions, and small claims. The public calendar can point you to a Weld County civil hearing, but it is not the full register of action. So work in two steps. Search Weld County civil dockets by the proper case class and court, then ask the trial-court clerk for the event history or the signed document behind it. That keeps a hearing date separate from the complaint, judgment, or other filing that carries the legal meaning.

Weld County Civil Docket Case Classes

Colorado's case-class letters route a Weld County civil docket to the right shelf. CV usually marks District Court civil cases. C marks County Court civil matters on the state request form. S marks small claims. DR covers domestic relations. Probate has its own categories and a separate local phone line. Formatting and leading zeros vary, so copy the number exactly as printed.

CV
A District Court civil class used for general or major civil matters.
C
A County Court civil class for matters within that court's jurisdiction.
S
The small-claims case class in County Court.
DR
A domestic-relations case class whose public access may vary by record.

Weld municipal courts rarely hear ordinary private civil lawsuits. If your Weld County result comes up empty, check the court level first rather than assuming the case was dismissed.

Inside a Weld County Civil Docket

A calendar card shows only the scheduled slice of a case. Date, time, duration, party name, case number, hearing type, location, appearance type, and courtroom may all appear there. The fuller ROA tells the rest of the story. It can list the header, parties and lawyers, filing events, motions, orders, settings, judgment, satisfaction, and appeal entries. Filed images are not linked from the public calendar.

Case NumberYear, class, and sequence, such as 2026CV#####
PartiesPlaintiff and defendant, or petitioner and respondent
EventsComplaint, service, answer, motion, order, and notice of setting
CalendarDate, time, duration, appearance mode, and courtroom
ResultSigned dismissal, order, judgment, satisfaction, or appeal event

A hearing card that vanishes does not mean the case was dismissed. Read the newest Weld signed order or current notice instead. The Weld County calendar also has no reliable judgment balance, so it never replaces a certified judgment product.

Weld County Civil Docket Orders

A setting tells you when and where. A signed Weld civil order tells you what the judge ruled. That gap matters after a motion hearing, a trial, or any dispositive ruling. A saved Weld County calendar card can go stale after a continuance, and it cannot show the terms of a judgment or the reach of a dismissal. When substance matters, request the exact Weld document.

Aggregate reports like those can show the system's overall scale, but they settle no single civil case. The case-specific ROA and its orders remain controlling.

Civil Case Types on the Docket

Weld District Court carries general and major civil matters plus domestic-relations cases. Weld County Court takes money claims within its statutory authority. It also handles forcible entry and detainer matters, and small claims. Probate belongs to the state Judicial Branch structure. Even so, it keeps its own staff line at the historic courthouse. Municipal courts are not the normal route for a private contract, property, or injury claim.

Domestic, probate, and sealed attachments can hold protected material. A public case reference does not put every document online.

Weld County Civil Docket Returns

Division C publishes some unusually specific practices. FED returns, meaning forcible entry and detainer, are set on weekdays at 8:00 a.m. except closures. Money-case summons returns run Friday at 8:30 a.m. when the plaintiff's lawyer surname starts with A through L, and at 1:30 p.m. for M through Z. The court treats that money return as a non-appearance event. Small-claims returns land Tuesday or Thursday at 1:15 p.m. in person in Division C, subject to availability. These patterns help decode a docket label. They do not override the current summons, case-management order, or later notice, so follow the newest case-specific direction every time.

Key point: A Friday money return marked as non-appearance is not a trial date. Read the current summons and order before deciding whether to attend.

When a civil date looks wrong, call the Combined Courts clerk. Never substitute the general pattern for the court's own notice.

Civil Docket Settings and Hearings

A civil case usually opens with a complaint or petition. It then moves through service, an answer, case management, disclosures, discovery, motions, and responses. A setting might be a short status event. It could also be a motion hearing, a trial, or a return date. Later the docket may show judgment, satisfaction, collection activity, or appeal. Each step can add several ROA entries.

Weld civil docket flow: Filing › Service › Response › Case Management › Motions › Hearing or Trial › Judgment.

The public card's appearance type is not the same as its hearing type. A virtual label does not open any general Webex link. Use the division-specific directions. Follow the newest order too. Where a public livestream is offered, you may observe only, with no participation or recording.

Weld County Civil Docket Judgments

The Judicial Branch request form lists several civil products. Those products include an Order for Judgment, Transcript of Judgment, Satisfaction of Judgment, Protection Order, and ROA. Pick carefully, because these are not interchangeable. A transcript of judgment is one specific clerk-issued record. A certified copy, by contrast, just authenticates whatever selected document you name. Before paying anything, ask the clerk which product your situation actually requires.

ItemPublished amount
Copy$0.25 per page; party and attorney maximum $15
Transcript of Judgment$25
Certificate of Satisfaction$20
Certified or exemplified copy$20 per document
Off-site retrievalActual cost

The $15 copy maximum does not apply to nonparties. Once research or redaction passes the first hour, the rate is $30 per hour, billed in fifteen-minute increments. Mail your Weld County request only after the clerk confirms the total, the payment method, and any possible waiver.

Weld County Civil Docket Filing Context

Court business in Weld can cross several venues without merging their records. A 2026 warrant-clearance event covering Weld and Greeley is a good example. The Judicial Branch release about it shows municipal and state courts. Those courts coordinated on eligible criminal and traffic cases. It says nothing about civil judgments. It did not fuse separate clerks. Each records office stays separate. The official word on the event is the Judicial Branch warrant-clearance release.

Weld County civil docket court system context

For a Weld County civil docket, stay on the District or County Court record path. City municipal clerks do not hold ordinary private civil suits. The elected county Clerk and Recorder, likewise, keeps no judicial case file.

Civil Docket Access Rules

Colorado CJD 05-01 governs public access to court records. That access covers calendars, dockets, ROAs, orders, and judgments. Access is broad. It is not uniform, though, across every medium and case type. Protected financial identifiers, sealed attachments, juvenile records, and some probate or family content can all be restricted. Bring identification, or proof of entitlement, because the clerk may ask for it. A Weld County civil docket has several access routes. The chain includes the online record form, email, phone, the counter, mail, and archive referral. County CORA covers county administrative records, not a workaround around Judicial Branch case limits. Colorado Courts E-Filing is a filing workspace. It serves lawyers and eligible users, not a free public reader for document images.

Access check: A calendar result is not a certified court record. Request the ROA, signed order, or certified copy from the Combined Courts clerk when that is the product needed.

A case can appear while a particular document does not. Name the exact filing in your request. Pulling the ROA alone does not order the complaint, a motion, the judgment, or every image in the case file.
